Visale comes up in every international student's research, but few explanations spell out who actually qualifies with no French track record, or the right moment to activate it.
Who can apply for Visale with no French history?
Anyone under 30, with no income condition in most cases; any employee within the first few months of a French contract; and any tenant on a mobility lease, regardless of age.
Do you need a specific place already lined up to apply?
No. The Visale certificate is issued online before you've even found a place, and stays valid for several months. It's best activated before you start searching.
Does Visale reduce the rent or the deposit?
No. Visale covers the landlord in case of unpaid rent - it doesn't change the rent or the deposit amount. It only removes the guarantor obstacle.
